The nature of our Priority Ethics model requires that each module that we teach or facilitate be customized to the client’s particular situation. However, there are core components to all of our ethics education programs that are essential to providing participants with a full learning experience that is engaging, relevant and immediately applicable.

Component 1: Discovery and Pre-event Survey

Prior to providing any consulting or education support, we conduct and extensive discovery to familiarize ourselves with the reality that our client is facing. Prior to any course we:

  • Interview key leaders in the organization to discuss pain points and key messages they would like their employees to learn
  • Hold a Pre-event Survey to assess the “current state” of class participants, begin to engage them in the learning process and collect preliminary data for our interactive course presentations.
  • (optional) In some situations, leaders want to learn more about their organization than they can from a targeted Pre-Event Survey on topics specific to the course. In these cases, we conduct either a full Culture Assessment or a unit-focused Ethics Inventory to provide a snapshot of either the cultural tendencies of the entire organization or the ethical “temperature” of a particular unit.
Component 2: Course Pre-Reading
Following the Discovery and the mapping out of our program, we issue a relevant Pre-Reading assignment that is either an excerpt from Peter DeMarco’s forthcoming book, a custom-generated article specific to the occasion or a selection from a leading business publication. This reading comes with a series of Pre-Assignment questions designed to introduce and facilitate participants to think about the material we will be covering in class.

Component 3: Interactive Course Presentation
All of our learning solutions utilize both the content mastery of our Institute facilitators as well as our rich multi-media platform to engage all four human faculties for optimal learning: the intellect, the will, the memory and the emotions. Sustainable results are built upon a foundation of employee knowledge, character and competence. We not only introduce participants to proven ideas and techniques, but also help them to develop thinking patterns and behaviors that generate results the right way. Our Priority Poller is critical to this component of our education platform.

Component 4: Exercises
Equally as important as our course presentations are the Exercises in which participants are asked to apply the concepts covered in the presentation. The form of the Exercise obviously depends upon the nature and size of the group, but typical exercises include small group breakout sessions, case-oriented discussion groups, or team projects. The design of the specific exercises can be discussed during the discovery phase if a client has special needs.

Component 5: Assessment
The assessment component of our programs have two pieces, both of which are designed to drive accountability. First, we invite all participants to evaluate the course and provide a full report to the course sponsor. Second, we build specific participant deliverables into the structure of the course so that the sponsor can be sure that his/her resources were put to good use.
